When part of your mission is to build up and bring together a community, you need the very best to drive your mission and vision forward. You need creative and innovative people who have strategies that align with your organization's goals and who can also infuse their creativity into ground-breaking campaigns and initiatives.

OUR BACK GROUND

MUMCo is an unincorporated association that was formed with the mission of "building up and bringing together a community of UK Armed Forces of Malawian origin, both serving and veterans, by addressing issues common to all and providing support in times of need to all involved." So far, we have over 250 members.

Malawians, as citizens of a Commonwealth country, have historically been important and valued sources of UK Armed Forces recruitment in the 21st century. More than 200 Malawians are currently serving in the UK Armed Forces. We also have approximately 100 Malawians who left the service for various reasons.

Malawians serving in the UK Armed Forces make enormous sacrifices and positive contributions to the UK. The common bond that unites them with the rest of the colleagues from other countries of the Commonwealth, including UK-born counterparts, is commitment to military duty, bringing key skills and dedicated service to the UK military. The Malawians have given their interests to serving the UK and its interests all over the world.

MUMCO devotes much of its time to the promotion of community social cohesion and Malawian cultural enhancement, pastoral care, bereavement support, helping veterans transition to civilian life after military service, and integration with the local community. We are incredibly proud of the achievements we have made so far in bringing the Malawian and UK military communities together.

We are very much committed to working closely together with our Malawi Embassy in London, partners with similar aims, and other Malawi UK Diaspora groups in supporting Malawians serving in the UK Armed Forces, the veterans, and their families. The fundamental aspect of achieving this goal is teamwork, cordial cooperation, and collaborative effort.
